The director – Chris Bell – is a former powerlifter, and the film is about he and his two brothers grew up worshiping Hulk Hogan, Sylvester Stallone, and Arnold Schwarzenegger – and tried to follow in their footsteps.This is a rare opportunity to see powerlifting on the big screen, including a scene with Louis Simmons / Westside Barbell in Columbus, Ohio…backstage with Chuck Vogelpohl at the Arnold Classic Powerlifting competition…and a climactic scene with Mark ”Jackass” Bell benching 704 at the APF Nationals in Las Vegas.
The film is also the best reviewed movie in the entire country right now, and ”Critics Pick of the Week” by Newsweek, People Magazine, and the LA Times.
The film is opening all around the country over the next few weeks. We will be in 40 cities by Friday, including new releases in Portland (OR), Miami, and Poughkeepsie.
