Quote:Sweden’s Marcus Hirvonen, 242, bench pressed 655 pounds yesterday at the Nordic Bench Press Championships in Ylitornio, Finland. The press is an IPF World Record, surpassing the former 650 pound record of Hungary’s László Mészáros. Hirvonen missed an opening attempt with 655 pounds and missed a third attempt at 727 pounds. Hirvonen also holds the 275 class World Record at 719 pounds. Here’s video of the lift:[youtube=EiW95wjPsS0]

Världsrekordet blev han dock av med fortare än kvickt:
Quote:Jason Jackson, 242, took Marcus Hirvonen’s one-day old IPF bench press World Record today at the USAPL Bench Press Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina.
