Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) February 1, 2006 — Iron Man magazine publisher John Balik announced an agreement with Bodybuilding.com to webcast live for the first time the prejudging and evening-show finals of the 2006 IFBB Iron Man Pro Bodybuilding Championships on February 18, 2006.
The Iron Man Pro is the biggest and longest running pro bodybuilding contest on the west coast, the mecca of bodybuilding. The event will be streamed live at Bodybuilding.com on February 18th. This year’s event features over 25 of the IFBB’s best competitors vying for more than $30,000 in prize money.
Scheduled to compete in this first pro show of 2006 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California (USA) are Lee Priest, Troy Alves, Darrem Charles, David Henry, Ahmad Haidar, Mustafa Mohammad, Japan’s Hidetada Yamagishi as well as many other bodybuilders who will be making their pro debut at the Iron Man Pro.
The top-three finalists qualify to compete in the prestigious Mr. Olympia contest, to be held in October in Las Vegas. ”We want our athletes to compete in front of the largest audience possible, so it made sense to team up with Bodybuilding.com, which has the biggest bodybuilding audience on the Internet,” Balik stated. The prejudging will air at Bodybuilding.com beginning at 10 a.m. PST on Saturday, Feb 18th, and the finals will start at 7 p.m. PST that evening. The event will be hosted by Iron Man writer, Lonnie Teper, who has also been the master of ceremonies of the Mr. Olympia.
The Iron Man Pro, which also includes an NPC amateur figure contest for women competitors, is part of the three-day FitExpo Fitness Weekend at the Pasadena Convention Center, February 17, 18 and 19. The FitExpo gives bodybuilding and fitness fans the unique opportunity to participate in over 30 seminars by highly respected experts in subjects from nutrition, personal training and fitness marketing in addition to hosting several strongman and powerlifting events with cash prizes totaling over $24,000.
