Omega-3 fats are essential fats. That means our body needs them to function. Omega 3 is good for joint support, for general skin health, for supporting fat loss, and it even has a positive effect on muscle protein metabolism. Hey, it almost has as many functions as a swiss army knife!
Unfortunately our bodies can't make Omegas on our own. We must get them from our diets. But we need to eat a great deal of sources of fish to get it, (wild salmon, trout, sardines, anchovies, herring and mackerel) so it can be a good idea to also take it in supplement form.
